The 1 3/8" frame lends itself to a multitude of purposes, combined, the five slat options, and five panel options make for endless Design Variations. Incorporating the 1 3/8" flush frame with the European louver profile, we create the popular European fixed true louver. The four traditional louver profiles are also excellent choices, the possibilities are user defined. Letting the designer decide what best suits a particular piece of architecture.

Constructed utilizing the mortise and tenon technique employed on all Southern Shutters. The Tenon is pegged using a polymer pin and Franklin Type III waterproof glue. Shutters constructed using wood pegs often leak moisture into the joint and can lead to paint issues, cracking around the end grain of the peg, etc. The polymer pin fuses with the wood to maintain a water tight joint, ensuring decades of use. Constructed typically in Basswood, it is also available in a wide variety of wood species. Cypress as well as Mahogany make for a stunning grain structure,customers often use Western red Cedar, for its unique appearance inside as well as natural decay resistance, much like Cypress, they both can be utilized indoors or out.
