The exterior Plantation shutter line was inspired by the vintage movable louver shutters seen throughout the South on Antebellum mansions.
In the past Plantation shutters were used extensively as exterior shutters. The louvers could be manipulated from the inside of the home when closed, allowing for control over ventilation and light. With the advent of A/C and window screens this functionality was lost. The Savannah Plantation exterior shutter restores these historical details to any vintage or new structure.
Exterior wood plantation Shutters are available with 1-7/8, 2-1/2 or 3-1/2 inch louver widths.

Western Red Cedar, a naturally decay-resistant wood, is preferred for construction of this exterior movable louver shutter. However, it is also available in a wide variety of custom species.
